Selectmen's Meetings

The Town's Selectmen meet in the Community Center at 6:00 PM on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month, or as necessary if requested.

Selectmen's meetings are open to the public, and all citizens of Eastbrook are urged to attend. Please remember, the Selectmen consider matters that affect us all. Their decisions involve our homes, our roads, our school, our money. If we want them to represent our will, they need to hear from us. The best way to do that, and to ensure that things get done in town when and how you want, is to be at the next Selectmen's meeting! Remember, these three officers work for you.

Planning Board & Appeals Board

Planning Board meetings are held in the Community Center at 6:00 PM.

These meetings are open and the public is urged to attend. If you want to know who is planning to build what and where in town, then you will want to attend these meetings.

During the winter months (from about November to about mid-April), the Town Planning Board meets once a month, on the first Monday of every month. The rest of the year (essentially, the building season), the Planning Board meets the first Tuesday of every month. (The Board will schedule a special meeting if necessary to consider an urgent building application.)

The Planning Board members are: Charles P. Yeo (Chairman), Louise Dickens, Mary Harris, James Lane, and Charlene Bunker

The Appeals Board meets on an "as needed" basis. As required by State law, a copy of variances granted by the Appeals Board is submitted to the Department of Environmental Protection in Augusta.

The Appeals Board members are Dennis Ellis, Peter Nevells, David Svec, Ronald Yeo, and Stephen Zadravecz.

Preserve Maine WatersBoat Licenses and Watercraft Stickers

Licenses for all watercraft, including "personal watercraft" like jet skis, are available at the Town Office.

In addition to being licensed, all motorized watercraft on inland waters must display a Lake & River Protection sticker issued by the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. The fees generated by these stickers will help keep Maine's waters free of invasive aquatic plants like milfoil that threaten the lives of ponds and lakes. For more about this new program, visit the Town Office or direct your browser to http://www.mainedep.com

Animal Control Officer

The State now requires that all towns, including Eastbrook, have an Animal Control Officer (ACO). The Town's ACO is Richard Ryan. The State requires that all dogs be licensed and that all cats have rabies shots. The owners of animals that are allowed to stray, that bite people, and that get into other trouble, are going to be held liable, even fined. The State is serious about this, and so the town is going to have to be as well.

Richard Ryan's telephone numbers are 565-0946 and 479-9150 (cell).

Big Dumpsters Clean-Up Weekend

This year's Spring "Big Dumpsters" clean-up weekend was June 9 and 10. The dumpsters were not at the old Town dump this year. Instead, they were at the Town's new salt-and-sand shed on the Sugar Hill Road. The hours of operation were 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday, June 9 and June 10.
